ART
CLASSES FOR ADULTS We
are four artists who have taught drawing and painting to adults
in a variety of settings over many years. Three of us taught
classes in the Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Adult Education Department,
run by the School Board. When the newly amalgamated HRM School
Board cancelled the adult education program, we decided to
continue on our own. We found a new home in the Christ Church
Hall, thanks to their many supportive parishoners, and we've
been able to provide a program similar to that which we had
been offering previously. This includes both afternoon and
evening classes, in ten-week sessions, and Saturday workshops.
We vary somewhat in our approaches, but we share our dedication
to high quality and seriousness of intent. We relate what
students are doing to the larger world of art-making. We try
to help each student develop individuality of style, as well
as "visual literacy" and a solid foundation in technique.
We respect each person's learning pace and differing aims.
