FIGURE DRAWING:Drawing the nude model in poses of varying length, using exercises designed to allow focus on each of the necessary skills in turn. Media of the students’ choice. Experienced artists will be working independently, alongside students. FEE (ten sessions): $110 for experienced artists (permission of instructor), $135 for students. Paper supplied at a minimal cost.

OIL/ACRYLIC: Basic instruction in composition, colour mixing, and brushwork for beginners, tackling a variety of subjects. More experienced students work independently with consultation and critique. A short session on Art history and appreciation in each class. Choice of oil or acrylic. Advice on purchasing materials given in the first class. FEE: $115.

WATERCOLOUR STUDIO: For all levels of experience. Weekly projects designed and adapted for individual learning. Emphasis is on skill development and an understanding of art making --yours and others’. FEE: $125. New students should contact instructor for materials list.

THE ART OF THE VISUAL JOURNAL: Open to all levels of art experience. This is a workshop that will stimulate your creative juices. The focus of the course is to produce a visual journal using a variety of techniques such as drawing, painting, print making, photography, collage and text. Through in-class work and assignments, students will experiment and broaden their individual art practice. There will be group and one-on-one interaction. Robert E. Williams has been producing visual journals for over 20 years as part of his art practice. FEE: $125

BASIC DRAWING WORKSHOPS: Exercises designed to provide the means to achieve progress in draughtsmanship outside of the classroom setting. Various media and subject matter. FEE: $30/day
